“GOING GLOBAL”

Here are a number of questions for discussion within families or your Redemption Community. Helpful tips for studying scripture “arcadia.redemptionaz.com/squid”. For more information about RCs, click here. These are meant to help you as you reflect on Sundays in your smaller groups. You are free to adapt, change, or take away any of these as you see fit.

  • What were some of the takeaways or points of conviction you remember from Pastor Cody’s sermon? How can you continue to meditate on those this week?
  • We can see this ‘come as you are’ mentality in our culture today which is true here but the gospel implication says come as you are, but don’t stay as you are. (I know this isn’t a question but I thought it was just too good.)
  • Ongoing input shapes behavior. We see Peter being reminded again about the gospel for all people, what regular and repeating inputs do you have in your life and how are those shaping your behavior?
  • Jews and Gentiles were entrenched in opposition toward one another, but here are unified by a work of the Spirit. Ask God to search your heart for blind areas of cultural entrenchment, dig into those painful and uncomfortable points, repent and seek out people that are different than you. Sit across from those people and seek reconciliation for the sake of the Gospel and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Research has clearly shown, but is not widely disseminated, that the “three-legged stool” of family, work, and faith are the key to a livable, successful society and culture.

And yet, it is those very things that are under attack in our world.

Aaron Baer will be with us to share why these three things are so important, why they are under attack, and how we should responsibly respond.
