First Corinthians

Join Redemption Arcadia for a yearlong expository preaching series through 1 Corinthians, exploring Paul’s call to holiness, unity, wisdom, worship, and resurrection hope.

In this 1 Corinthians expository preaching series at our Phoenix church, we will walk carefully through Paul’s letter to a church planted in the middle of a wealthy, diverse, and deeply pagan city. Written around AD 54 from Ephesus, 1 Corinthians addresses a congregation struggling to follow Jesus while still clinging to patterns shaped by the surrounding culture.

Paul writes to exalt the gospel of Jesus Christ, answer the Corinthians’ questions, and confront the serious sins and divisions that had gone unchallenged among them. Though Corinth was a uniquely challenging place, the struggles facing that church are not foreign to us. The same tensions between faithfulness and compromise, truth and preference, holiness and cultural pressure still confront the church today.

Throughout most of 2026, Redemption Arcadia will spend thirty-nine Sundays studying 1 Corinthians together in five movements:

Divisions & Preferences (chapters 1–4)
Sex & Body (chapters 5–7)
Food & Wisdom (chapters 8–10)
Spirit & Service (chapters 11–14)
Resurrection & Hope (chapters 15–16)

This series will help us see how the gospel speaks not only to doctrine, but to our life together as the church.

Research has clearly shown, but is not widely disseminated, that the “three-legged stool” of family, work, and faith are the key to a livable, successful society and culture.

And yet, it is those very things that are under attack in our world.

Aaron Baer will be with us to share why these three things are so important, why they are under attack, and how we should responsibly respond.
